Delaware Bay Class: Gauge Lands His Biggest Striper Yet

Ten years old, four years of dawn patrols, and a bass thick enough to test both arms. Dad coached the drag. Gauge did the rest.

“Faith, family and service are the spine of this brand — the fishing and hunting are how it gets shared, and that is key.”

The Heart of the Brand

Taught From the Start, One Rod at a Time

Gilch put a rod in Gauge's hands before he could tie his own shoes. Since then it's been pre-dawn drives, cold hands, tangled line, and the kind of patience you only learn from a parent who keeps showing up.

At 10, Gauge handles species most adults won't touch — snapping turtles, snakes, big striped bass — calmly, safely, and with respect for the animal. That didn't happen by accident. It was taught, season after season, by his father.
